A Visit to Quebec
Quebec, our first City Break in Canada was magical. We could have been in France, such was the atmosphere of Quebec Old Town.
Narrow cobbled streets had us fooled into thinking we were in Paris.
Rows of little antique shops tempted us to browse, but not to buy.
Outdoor eating was still possible due to the Indian Summer Quebec was enjoying
These coloured roofs are made of metal. Everlasting apparently.
This is the famous Fairmont Le Château Frontenac Hotel. Crowds of tourists visit it every day. Not to stay, but just for a look.
For me, the market was one of my favourite places in the City.
The food and wines were arranged like art work.
So fresh; so beautiful.
Sparkling little jars of fruit jellies
Exotic vegetables I could not recognise
And not to forget, we were bang in the middle of autumn, with all its colours.
Always somewhere to stop for a coffee and a slice of gateaux.
Such ornate architecture, we became confused when we saw Canadian flags, as we were sure we must have diverted to Paris.
Nothing in English here
Surely we can’t still be in Canada
What a treat this City is. We will be visiting again for sure.
