Pictures of my every day life

Catching the Wave

This summer we have been chasing the good weather. If a fine day is predicted, we go for it. ‘Saturday; mainly dry with occasional showers’ It was worth taking the risk, so off we went to the seaside with Poppy. Whitstable was our destination on the Kent coast. We were not the only ones with this idea, but there was just about room for all of us. First stop;  lunch. As usual Poppy developed a crush on the waiter which was reciprocated and she got a colouring in kit.

She soon got the hang of crayons and managed to produce a not half bad little piece of art.

Then it was straight down to the beach. The tide was coming in and Poppy fancied a paddle. It would have been better if she’d taken her shoes off……..oh well, they were getting a bit small, so…

She got a new pair. Bang on trend I’d say!

It wasn’t the finest quality sand, but we managed to apply the bucket and spade and it all worked out in the end.

The harbour was busy and charming. It reminded us a bit of Halifax Nova Scotia in the summer (where we will be in just two short weeks!!!)

People go there for the seafood snacks. Oysters and whelks are not for me though

However there were plenty of alternatives on offer, with the usual seaside aroma of chips and vinegar

This charming lady invited us into her retro shop, but we resisted, as we felt she may have had trouble walking us around

A lovely seaside day. I am aware of catching the wave while I can, as my move to Canada for good is not far off.

  2. What an adorable child in an adorable location. Always like to travel around the world since fate has decided I can not do so.

  3. Poppy knows it’s not a real trip to the beach unless you get your feet wet.
