Time for a Show

It’s that time of year again. Time for showing our farm animals and just about everything else. We took Poppy to The South of England Show at Ardingly, as she’s fond of animals.

First things first. Lunch.

Our girl opted for the cheese on toast. Very tasty. Now on to the animals…

This chap was for sale. Very handsome, but we were only looking.

There were rows and rows of these lovely creatures. Not sure how thrilled they were about being there…

The pigs weren’t bothered in the least. Sleeping is what they do.

This charming little couple found comfort in each other and slept it all off.

Meanwhile, the goats were far too nosey to miss a minute of these strange creatures filing by.

In future I will opt for cups and saucers that hold tea, not me. Poppy wasn’t at all keen on this nauseating little ride..

Just take a look at those stunning ears!

And the eye lashes on her..

Wouldn’t be a proper show without the birds of prey. Not sure this magnificent owl thinks so.

We all enjoyed our day. Poppy still had plenty to say, even after her bath, when it was really bed time….

  1. About the ride — Poppy looks happy — it’s Mandy I’m not so sure about. :-)

  2. Looks like a fun day! Beautiful photos. Our season of county fairs has not yet begun here.

  3. The baby goats are SO sweet. It’s really a compliment to call children ‘kids.’ Lloved the llama (or was she an alpaca?), the owl and those beautiful bunny ears.

I found out a couple of years ago that the tea cup ride is NOT for me either. Same goes for any other rides. I felt SO nauseous the last time I took my grandson on a carnival ride. It took forever for the thing to stop.

Poppy looks lovely in light green, perched like a baby bird in her pink stroller.
